Graduate Gowning & Attire

Academic Dress is compulsory for you to attend your graduation. This includes a gown, hood, and trencher (cap) or bonnet, depending on your qualification. The trencher is yours to keep, while the gown, hood and bonnet (if relevant) must be returned immediately after the ceremony.

The regalia hire fee is included in your graduation fee. When you place your order, you will be able to select your size and height, which ensures you receive the correct fit on the day.

In addition to academic dress, the dress code is smart/semi-formal attire. Graduands are encouraged to wear clothing that complements the gown (e.g., a collared shirt and tie, blouse, or dress) along with smart shoes. Please avoid casual clothing such as jeans, shorts, or sportswear.

If the gown and hood are not returned, you will be invoiced for the full replacement cost of the academic regalia.

In the registration portal, you will be guided through selecting your gown size. Your gown is measured by your height, please select the appropriate size.

Your moment on stage will also be captured, with your digital photo available for download the week following graduation.

These services are provided at no extra cost.

There will not be photo printing available on site.

All frames purchased on the day include Scene to Believe’s professional onsite framing service at the event, and will be ready for you to take home and display on the day.

Testamur / Certificate

No you do not. Since official testamurs/certificates are issued at different times as students complete their studies, you will not be required to bring your official document on the day. Instead, you will be presented with a ceremonial certificate scroll on stage.
